James is the VP Law Johnson & Johnson Global Public Health since May 2020. Prior to Global Public Health, between 2016 and 2020, James led the global legal team at Johnson & Johnson Innovation which aims to facilitate partnerships with entrepreneurs and start-ups to invent the next generation of medicines and medical devices. From 2012 to 2016, James led the Janssen Asia Pacific and Southeast Asia legal legal teams.
Prior to joining Johnson & Johnson, James was in private practice at Donovan Leisure Newtown & Irvine, New York, NY and Allen Allen & Hemsley, Sydney, Australia. He received his Masters of Laws from Duke University, and a B.Leg.S from Macquarie University School of Law, Sydney, Australia.
James is an Adjunct Professor of Finance at New York University where he taught M&A and a Lecturer at Rutgers Business School where he taught Ethics. He is also co-Chair of the Vaccines Protection Working Group of IFPMA created in 2020. Currently, thanks to the work of the VPWG, the list of countries with an NFC has expanded to well over 150 countries including notably the World Health Organization NFC which covers 92 low- and middle-income countries and the Africa Union NFC which covers 50+ countries in Africa and the Caribbean.
